2009 CFMDA ambulance to Israel Thirty supporters of CFMDA from Liverpool travelled to Faith International Christian Ministries, Bolton on 10th September to hear Sarah Cascella, an MDA volunteer from Israel, tell something of her story. Sarah made Aliyah from France and became a trained paramedic .She is regarded as a heroine for her dangerous work when a terrorist rocket hit the Ashkelon Shopping Mall.
The evening , organised by CFMDA, was also an opportunity to present the second ambulance that has been purchased for Israel. This will be based in Jerusalem. Eli Benson, Chief Executive, MDA UK; Richard Simon, Regional Director, MDA UK , with other friends from the Jewish community present, addressed the meeting and were delighted to accept the new vehicle. They in turn presented the Christian Friends committee members with individual letters of thanks from the Israeli ambassador to the UK, Ron Prosser, and with models of the mobile blood unit, the provision of which is our third target.
On behalf of CFMDA, The Rev. Mark Madeley, Committee President, and Peter McGowan, National Chairman, spoke about our love and support for the people of Israel, based upon our commitment to Biblical principles. Other members of the Committee present were Barrie Robinson, Bolton area; Alan Chester, Liverpool area; and Jean Brannigan, Glasgow area.
The Reverend Steven and the people of Faith International Christian Ministries were thanked for their excellent hospitality, providing the very pleasant venue , a superb buffet, and leading times of praise and prayer.
An altogether up-lifting and encouraging evening.
